Environmental Monitoring
and Assessment

Environmental monitoring and assessment provides a framework for predicting the nature and magnitude of potential environmental impacts associated with proposed anthropogenic works.

This framework will ensure that the proposed works are implemented in an environmentally responsible manner, one that minimizes environmental degradation.

Environmental Geology

Environmental geology involves the application of geologic principles in guiding development practices and mitigating environmental problems that occur in the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or lithosphere.

These problems include, but are not limited to, shoreline erosion, shoaling of navigable channels and harbours, flooding, slope failure (landslides), groundwater contamination, and habitat degradation.

Ecological Restoration

Ecological restoration facilitates the re-establishment of the historical (pre-perturbation) condition of an altered ecosystem.

It is a deliberate process that enables the compromised ecosystem to regains its integrity and sustainability over time, as its biotic and abiotic resources are replenished.
